sticky note family

Alex drew these for me today with one of the packs of sticky notes she asked santa for for Christmas. The style reminds me of Quentin Blake, who does the art in Roald Dahl books. I love the "L" noses she does now.

Boogers, yep. She made sure to tell me.

She started drawing snow white style sleeves on girls a couple weeks ago.

Cotton balls

Once Alex realized we had an entire bag of cotton balls in the bathroom, the projects began. Here is one of them, Santa. She pulled each cotton ball apart a little, then drew with pen on each one because she thought Santa's beard shouldn't be pure white, but a little grey-ish. Too bad she is in a no-color phase right now, this would look good with red!
I decided I need to buy her some more paint though (we've run out), she told me today that when she grows up she wants to be a painter. I asked her what she'd like to paint, and she said bowls of fruit. Funny. And cute.

Max

This was on the back of her math homework this week. She must sit by Max.

Pie

To grandma and grandpa

This is the first time I've seen Alex draw a ballerina. We had been talking a few days earlier to her about if she wanted to start ballet...

"Merry Christmas. Thank you for giving us the snowman kit. I like living here. You are awesome!!!!!! I love you!!!!!! Love Alex.
Run run as fast as you can. You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man."

Fancy Alex

Christmas 2010

Alex comes up with spontaneous notes all the time. Here is hers to Santa:
("Dear Santa. I hope you are safe. Thanks for the presents. Love Alex. P.S. The cookies are for you.") The "thank you" my husband wrote on there (I was in the hospital that night with sick little Liam). She was very excited to see that Santa appreciated the cookies we left out for him.
She made this card for us one day

Chinese family

Alex made this in school. She is in Chinese immersion this year. I have no idea what the characters by our pictures are...hopefully something nice.

Spelling test

Alex learns a sentence each week and needs to get the spelling, capital letters, spacing in words, etc, correct.

we ixpod!

"Happy Birthday dad. We love you a lot. So much we explode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She taped this to the door on her dad's birthday.

Fruit

Two apples, a banana and grapes. I'm not sure about the duck in the lower corner.

Raining on the princess

Unfolding art

Alex gave me this:

As I unfolded, I saw this:
(Translation: "I stink.")

The third picture

"I love you guys." Notice how tiny she drew and labeled Liam. He's almost that small in real life.
