Bad Alexandra, the butterfly.

Spain, 2009

Last week we found a notebook that Alex drew in while in Spain the spring of 2009. I tried to make it a type of picture journal...but I didn't keep up with it much. Too many things to do and see in Spain, I forgot!

Alex drew a million of these apples over a period of about 6 months.

Alex drew a little map of a city we visited, Segovia. What a wonderful place.

A picture of a horse and carriage that we traveled in, in Seville. Also an amazing place. (Although, my favorite city in Spain has to be Cuenca. A little slice of heaven.)

One of the many castles Alex drew.

The "transparant cube" was a popular subject for a few months, too. This is a good example of how Alex drew people right as she turned 5. Boys (her dad seen below) always had spiky hair and no body, just legs. Girls had triangle dresses (this is the advanced version, the dresses curl up on the sides). She usually forgot to draw arms and sometimes legs.

Arial view of a table with a plate of food and utensils, etc. I like how she tried to figure out the angle of the table legs, they are a little wonky.

A very TALL castle.

Self portrait

While waiting for our food at a restaurant, Alex drew the peacock painting that she saw on the wall, onto her paper placemat.
